The following report of oil activities in eastern Wyoming is furnished by the Wyoming-Montana Oil exchange of Casper: Cas-per: , The West Salt Creek section is probably prob-ably the most active field in the state, and is only second to Big Muddy in the work being accomplished. The United Petroleum company is running a. dozen strings of tools and is entirety surrounded surround-ed by drilling rigs of other companies. The Republic Oil company and the Corona Co-rona Oil company have started wells for the Swickheimer Oil enterprise. To the oast are the Jupiter, Republic, Boston-Wyoming and the Kinucy wells, v.-bile the General Petroleum is drilling to the west. The Imperial Oil company, operating in Park county near Mceteetse, unexpectedly unex-pectedly struck a well which is said to nave flowed for nearly a day before put under control. This might mean a new shallow oil field and . inexpensive drilling. The Glcnrock Oil company has let a drilling contract to the Elmer Green Drilling company for a test well on the La Bouta dome. Western Exploration company is now connected up with its second power line in the bander field, and is now pumping five wells. Good progress is reported on its several other holdings. The Schoonmaker Xo. 4 is down 400 feet, with expectations of reaching the sands at 1200 feet, the one on the Lander oil and gas tract is well started on its way to the 1800-foot point. The Western Exploration company has planned . operations for drilling in the Kirby Creek structure north ot Thermopolis on a lOU-acre block of territory. ter-ritory. Salt. Creek Petroleum company's well on section 21, West Salt Creek, has been held up for a short period with boiler trouble. As soon as repairs are complete com-plete it will only be a question of hours for remits, as the bit was only a few feet from the oil sand. The Pennsyvania Oil company is making preparations for active work on its large holdings west of Thermopolis. Thermopo-lis. Drilling will commence as soon as arrangements havo been completed. 'The Dragon Exploration company has completed a contract, with the ng already al-ready on the ground, for the drilling of its property on sections 31, 34 and 75, Big Muddy. ' The contract calls for active ac-tive drilling to be commenced before December 1, and a cash deoosit has been put up as assurance of drilling lo the "Wall Creek sand. The contracting company com-pany assumes all expenses and will drill on a 60-40 basis. ' The Midway Oil company is close to the oil sand on Teapot dome. This is the company taken over by the Armour interests, who will finish the well and drill four additional holes on the company com-pany holdings The Blackniore Oil company, which j has two wells drilling in the West Salt j Creek field, and from which reports ' mav be expected soon, is close to the I Out west. Boston-Wyoming, Monarch Salt Creek and United Petrobntm wells, all of which are ncariug the sands with deep holes. This flection stands to be one of the biggest produce! s of the field, as the wells already finished give evidence. |
