Show BAND DIVIDES HONORS WITH BALL PLAYERS More than 3000 people attended the band concert which was given by the Twentieth infantry band at Fort Douglas yesterday morning. Even during- the-ear-ly morning hours the street cars bound for the fort were crowded, and It was necessary for the traction company to establish, es-tablish, double-header five-minute service after the concert In order to carry the crowd away from the fort. Horace S. Ensign, who sang a solo during dur-ing the concert, was warmly applauded by the soldiers and visitors. The programme pro-gramme was a varied one, ending with "The Star Spangled Banner." All the space in front of the officers' quarters and west of the bandstand was crowded during the concert. During the afternoon more than 1000 visitors gathered to watch a choose-up ball game between former ball players enlisted en-listed in the three regiments. As the diamond was not in the best of condition the game was not as fast as former ! games which have been played by the i choose-up teams. |
