Commissioner Newman expressed brief- : ly his appreciation, of the honor that had i been done him in his appointment and ; said that he would prove by his service 1 t hat. the confidence of those who had chosen him had not been misplaced. His bond was accomplished by transfer of the $20,000 bond on file from the National Surety company for Commissioner Shearman. Shear-man.
