The Yannigan game was declared off by Skipper Bernhard this afternoon after arrangements had been completed for a game tomorrow with ' the Portervllle Orange Pickers, weather permitting. Four other exhibition games for this week, now being arranged, will give the Saints plenty to do. With weather conditions perfect for hard work the squad turned out at 9:30 this morning and continued batting and field practice until noon. At 2 o'clock thts afternoon the Saints were again out for batting practice against the regular heavers of the squad. Dubue went on the hill for a long period and Cress and An-finson An-finson were given long turns behind the hat. Now that first base and outfield positions are practically settled. Interest centers in the contest among seven speedy candidates for the three infield Jobs. Figuring Fig-uring on the present dope, no one of them has any cinch on his Job. |
