Mr. Edwa ids is on one of his periodical trips to this state. S-alt Lake banks are as good as any on the coast, ' and their officials are mighty good bankers, according to Edwards. "No community can get far which has not able bankers. Mr. Edwards said last night. "The banker who says 'yes' too easily may soon help to 'break' a. town. Not only must be know that the institution's institu-tion's money is safe, but he must lend it to enterprises that will be a success and of benefit to the colnni unity. "The development of Salt Cake proves that you have that kind of bankers here." Speaking of banking conditions in the west, Mr. Edwards said t hey have more money than they ca n lend sa fely at the present loan standards. They are wondering won-dering how they a re going to extend their loans and still keep within the con-lines con-lines of good banking. Some methods will have to be found, Edwards thinks, that will allow the bankers a little more leeway. "The state and nat ional governments ought to be careful t hey don't overtax banks," he said.
