Show IGNORANCE OF LAW CAUSE OF DISCHARGE Upon the ground that the defendant whs ignorant of having committed an offense, a eharge preferred against S. I. Fullmer of having obtained money by false pretenses was dismissed vesterdav by Frank B. Scott, justice of the peace. The charge was preferred by R. Butter-worth, Butter-worth, who cashed for Fullmer a time check obtained by Fullmer from the Garfield Gar-field Smelting company for work. Later development showed that tbe greater part of tbe amount of the check, which was for was covered by an j assignment of Fullmer's wages to the Garfield Banking company. The defendant de-fendant convinced the court that he had not understood the check to be subject to the assignment, since It had been issued is-sued to him. |
