Show PHILLIPS CHURCH ELECTS OFFICERS Congregation Holds Business and Social Session; Treasurer Reports Budget of Year Met in mil. A happy and successful annual meeting meet-ing of Phillips Congregational church was held last evening, when the annual reports re-ports and the election of officers filled the evening. ; Dinner was served at 6 o'clock to some 200 members of the parish, the Ladies' : society providing a substantial repast under the lead of its president, Mrs. p. L, ; Laughlin. ! The business session was held at S o'clock, when the annual reports were presented. The record of the year revealed re-vealed an advance in all departments and the gifts for charity and benevolence far exceeded those of any other year in the church's history. The treasurer re- j ported the year closed with the budget met In full. I The church elected the following off!- cers for the ensuing year: Clerk, Misa Ully King; deacons, the Rev. John Whal-ley, Whal-ley, Mrs. C. A. Walker; trustees, Walter j B. Jones, James E. Scobee; treasurer, H. j Warren Smith; organists, Miss Mary ! Uove, Mrs. Gladys Buckle; historian. Miss j Mina McArthur; Sunday school superin- tendent, A. F. Bardwell; assistant, F. E. Oneth; primary superintendent, Miss Anna Swan; assistant, Miss Erma Perry; finance committee, August Rudine, Carl Wall, O. Chytraus, J. L. Laughlin, L. H. Page. Plans were laid for a year of aggressive ag-gressive work in all departments of the church and hearty votes of thanks were accorded the officers of the past year. |
