Show RABIES VICTIMS SEEK TREATMENT Idaho Man Coining to Salt Lake for Pasteur; Kelton Has ase of Month Standing. The first case of rabies reported to the state board of health this year came from Kelton, in Boxelder county. W. B. Adams of Kelton was bitten more than one month ago hy a dog he was endeavoring to bandage after the dog had been infected by a coyote. The man had open wounds on his hands and arms, and, -from symptoms, it is believed he is suffering from the disease The case was reported by Dr. Campbell of the Kelton cistrict, and Dr. T. B. Beatty, secretary of the state board of health, has wired to Washington for Pasteur treatment. From what has been written by Dr. Campbell concerning the symptoms the man has displayed, it seems doubtful, according to Dr. Beatty, if the case may be successfully treated at this late hour. Another case of a similar nature hap been reported by Dr. Colton, who has informed the department that a man has 1 just left Bridge, Idaho, for Salt Lake City to receive the Pasteur treatment given by the state board of health. In this case It seems the man was bitten by a dog more than two weekB ago, but did not at first consider the bite serious enough to cause him any anxiety. Dr. J. Tracey of Millard county has written the state department citing cases where dogs in the county believed to be infected with hydrophobia are running loose. The county commissioners, he says, refuse to do their duty In regard to the muzzling of dogs and the shooting of stray animals without isible dog license plates on their collars. |
