Applications for appointment to st-voral state offices ar.il more than a score of local applications appli-cations in the county government 'will be considered by the Democratic central cen-tral committee of Weber county at its meetinjr Saturday afternoon, according to information reieived by officers of the organization. All Democratic, county coun-ty of fu-evs ele.'t have been requested to submit a list of applications for appointments ap-pointments in order that the central committee may have an opportunity to make investigation and recommendation concerning tiie ability of applicants. As Weber county will be entitled to a share of the state patronagn the local enpi mi t ;ee also plans to tH ke some action ac-tion on applications for state appointments appoint-ments in order that the recommendations recommenda-tions of the organization may be presented pre-sented to the meeting of state officers-elect officers-elect early in December. I'p to the present time Weber county has developed devel-oped cot lcs than three applicants for state fish and game commissioner to succeed Fred W. Chambers. Hagbart Anderson, former city jailer, was tne first Weber county man to go out after the appointment, but William Wil-liam ("Puck'') Anderson will have his name before the county committee with indorsement of the" Weber County Sportsmen 's club. A. M. Van der Vlies, also a widely-known sportsman, is another an-other Weber county applicant to succeed suc-ceed Mr. Chambers. Willard D. Ellis, president of the "Wood row Wilson club during the recent re-cent campaign, is said to be an applicant appli-cant for appointment as state bank' commissioner. It is anticipated that he will have the unqualified indorsement of the county committee for the place. He is now assistant cashier at the Pin-pree Pin-pree National bank. Mr. Ellis comes under the classification of Democratic applicants, but Paul M. Lee, assistant cashier at the Utah National ba.nk, will apply as a Progressive for Democratic indorsement for state bank examiner. Several other Weber county Democrats are expected to apply for "blanket ' ' indorsements, with the intention of making mak-ing application later for appointment under some state official. According to present indications there will be more than a score of applications applica-tions presented that have been made to the various county officers-elect. The longest lists will be presented by-Charles by-Charles M. Barney, county clerk-elect, and Herbert C. PetersoD, " sheriff -elect. B. W. Wilson and Miss Winnifred Geiger are said to be applicants for Hpputvships in the clerk's office, while Frank Huband of North Ogden, Charles Pineoek and A. L. Fife are some of the probable applicants for appointment as deputy sheriffs. The" meeting of the county central committee will be held in Judge N. J.
