Show DELIGHTFUL DAY IS SPEUTGETEHS Guests of the City Given Entertainment by the Local Charter. There was nothing but entertainment on the programme yesterday for the Greeters of American .in convention here, but the entertainment was sufficient in quality and quantity to keep the hotel men busy every minute ot the day. Beginning at 10 o'clock In the morning when- the Greeters boarded a special train for the Utah Copper mine at Bingham until un-til 12 o'clock laat night when they concluded con-cluded their programme at Saltair, the day was replete with all sorts of interesting inter-esting things. The visit to the great Utah Copper mine was for many of the eastern delegates dele-gates their first sight of the process whereby mother earth. Is made to give up her riches. Luncheon at the WHeon grill gave the party just breathing time between events. A most attractive menu waa provided for the guests of the local Greeters. At 3:30 in the afternoon Professor John J. McClellan gave the visitors a special organ recital in the Mormon tabernacle. A few of them had heard Professor McClellan Mc-Clellan on the old organ, and the surprise sur-prise of these at the augmented volume and added delicacy of tone made possible pos-sible by the new organ waa a subject for much favorable comment among the delegates. dele-gates. One of the delegates, who heard the organ for the first time remarked: "This recital has just put tho finishing touch on the magnificent entertainment that we have been accorded by our Salt Lake hosts." In the late afternoon tho Greeters took possession of Saltair. There was bathing to start with. And when the eastern, and western visitors had enjoyed to the full the unique experience of a dip In the Dead Sea of America, supper was ready for them in the main pavilion. After the supper there waa a programme pro-gramme of Bports and dancing. Souvenirs for every one of the 200 members of the party were distributed during the courge of the evening. A great many of the Greetera will remain re-main over In Salt Lake for several days. Those who have been able to postpone their return will be taken on a trip over the Emigration Canyon railroad to Point Lookout this morning. Guides will point out the places of historic Interest. Luncheon Lunch-eon will be served to the visitors at the Semloh hotel. In the afternoon a trip Is scheduled for Ogden canyon. The trains from the canyon will return in time for connection connec-tion with the trains for the Yellowstone park. Many of the visitors are planning plan-ning a visit to the national pleasure ground. They will make the trip Wylie Way. |
