Show MINERS' HOSPITAL BILL VETOED BY GOVERNOR BLOOD One of the bills passed by the last legislature which this week met the veto axe of Governor Henry H. Blood was S. B. 69, providing for the establishment of a miners' hospital in connection connec-tion with the tuberculosis sanatorium sana-torium at Ogden. The governor vetopd th hill on the miners' hospital because it called for the creation of a new institution, which he had advised against in his original message to the legislature. He also pointed out that the enactment of the bill would have meant liquidation of the assets of the miners' fund now in the hands of the land board at a possible loss to the fund. Governor Blood approved S. B. 249 which appropriates $25,000 for occupational disease study. |
