Show ORPHANAGE CHILDREN ARE GIVEN A TREAT Brief Concert Given and Refreshments Served, With Miss Mary Biebel as Hostess. Miss Mary Biebel, a graduate nurse of the Holy Cross hospital, entertained the eighty-five children of the Kearns St. Ann s orphanage in royal style yesterday afternoon. It had been planned that the fesl ivit ies would be held on the broad expanse of the lawn, but because of the , heavy rain early in the day tiie recreation room was used. The room was lavishly decorated with flowers and vari-colored electric lights, presenting an attractive appearance. Ice cream and other refreshments dear to the hearts of the "kiddies" were served, and a brief concert prosnimme of merit was presented, with Miss Nora Glcason at the piano. The children wore American flag caps, and in the concluding number of tiie programme, pro-gramme, when they sane "America." each child waved a small American flag. |
