Show OAKS TAKE ANOTHER; IS ALMOST SHUTOUT Shotputter Pruiett Pitches Great Ball; Rowdyites Get Three in Ninth. Special to The Tribune. LOS AXGELES, Oct. 9. With Pruiett pitching almost shut-out ball today to-day for the Oaks against Scoggins for the Angels, tho visitors romped away with the game by the score of l to 1. Up to the ninth inning, however, it looked like anybody's game, being a 1 to-1 tie for tho greater part of the time, but iu the ninth three runs coming over in rapid succession for the visitors visit-ors made the defeat of tho home club swift and sure. The Oaks got awav in the lead in tho second inning, when thev put one run over. Johnston walked 'and Ness forced him at second, Seoegina to Terrv. Gardner singled and Kuhn fanned. Ijitschi singled to center, .N'ess scoring; Pruiett fanned, ending the inning. Los Angeles tied it up in the fifth. Boles opened with a rattling single to center and went to second on Butler's sacrifice, Pruiett to Stow. Wolter, batting bat-ting for Scoggins, was out. Kuhn to Aess. Boles scored when Kuhn failed to get back to tho plate. Maggert singled sin-gled infieKUand was out stealing. Neither side scored until the ninth, when Oakland came across with the winning three. Stow opened with a single to center and Hosp sacrificed Boles to McMullen. Middleton was safe at first and Stow safe at third on Terry s error. Johnston was safe at iirst on a holders' choice, filling the bases. Ness doubled to center, scoring Stow and Middleton. Gardner sent up a neat sacrifice fly to Harper, scoring Johnston.
