Sub i si I- Girls Congratulate Themselves Them-selves Upon Their Victory Vic-tory Over the Boys. 0FF1 C E RS of the senior and junior classes of the Latter-day Saints university who. were elected elect-ed last Friday are already planning plan-ning a busy season of activities for their respective classes. The officers have not yet officially assumed their duties, but have begun to arrange their plans. i The junior class officers have anjix-ceptionally anjix-ceptionally hard year ahead of them, as they must manage and finance the junior prom, which is the big dance of the year. Upon the amount of time and labor which the officers put into the work on the prom depends its success or failure, and they are all mak- mm & mma ing every effort to bring best results. At the final senior class election, held at the school Friday afternoon, Miss Nora. Cannon, representing the feminine element of the class, was elected elect-ed president of the fourth-year students. The girls are highly elated over their success in electing their candidate, as they have been defeated on several occasions oc-casions in former years. They were better bet-ter organized this year in "their campaign, cam-paign, and as a result the boys were defeated. de-feated. The presidency was not the only office the girls captured, however, as they won out for every office they can hold. The vice presidency could not be decided Friday as the candidates, Melvira Higgs and Helen Burton, received re-ceived an equal number of votes. Another Election Arranged. . Another election will be held this week to determine the winner. Lenore Cannon will hold the combined offices of secretary and treasurer and Elmo Ed' dington will officiate as yell master. The hop managers elected "were Douglas Doug-las Barnes and Aseneth Smith. The junior class elected Vaughn Cannon Can-non president and Mary Hansen vice president. Alice Knowlton was elected secretary and John Cannon treasurer. David Watts is the class yell master and the hop managers are Aleine Mar-getts Mar-getts and Boss Lund. |
