Some time apo several ijuiuettrial promoters pro-moters of Los Angelas made efforts to induce the management of the Newsou j Safety Elevator company to move its machinery from Salt Lake to that point, otferiug material inducements tor I the establishment of a factory thre. j Since then, however, such local encouragement encour-agement has ben received by the grow- i ing industry that it will remain in Utah, with a larger factory to be established in or near Salt Lake. Manager A. L. Bailey of the company said last night that the present" factory at 638 West Third Xorth street, even with recent additions of machinery to the plant, in proving inadequate to take care of the output in sight. It ia thereforo decided that imrueiliate enlargement en-largement is neeewary, which will eotail removal of the works to a more spacious ite. At the up-towD offW of the company, 131 East Second South Btreet, it was stated last night that a committee of suburban citizens will come to town during the week to make inspection of the works and a survey of the concern's con-cern's prospects, with a view to having the factory moved to a point near tho southern limits of the city. The elercator recently installed in the warehouse of the Ftati Light and Traction Trac-tion company on Fourth West, between First and Second South streets, is reported re-ported to be working satisfactorily. |
