Show EFFICIENCY OF THE FRENCH NAVY PARIS, Dec. 17. 7:o0 p. m. Owing to the efficiency of the allied fleets and despite de-spite the presence of German cruisers in the various oceans, the minister of marine ma-rine tald today that not a man had been lost of the ihousands of French troops transported to France since the opening of hostilities from Algeria. Tunis, Fast A frica., Morocco, Madagascar a nd Tong-klng, Tong-klng, or of the British troops from Asia, Australia, Africa and Canada. The statement was made to the naval committee of Die clia ruber of deputies by the minister of marine. He added that the po-opcration of the allied navits assured as-sured the free rMvictualing of the allied countries, while the seas were closed to their adversaries. The minister said that , iu addition the French navy had furnished men and artillery to participate in land bait le s and also had collaborated in providing pro-viding war ma terial from its arsenals, I foundries and workshops. |
