Show ACTIVIH III GOLF 10 TBIS BEGINS Outlook for Sports Exceptionally Excep-tionally Bright in Salt Lake This Year Within the next week the advocates of golf and tennis in Salt Lake will open the 1915 season which they thmk w 11 eftcel in interest any of the pre v ious seasons in th s c ty The first act vity in these two sports will begin next Saturday with the opening of the Country clnb for the summer On this day matches will be played between some of the local experts m the gameB Until the present time there have been no matehes in Salt Lake but those who enjoy tenn s and golf lost no t me in beginning pract ce after the good spring weather bet in A not ceable feature in connect on with the games is their spread over the city and state and especially among the younger pop ulation Of tennis in particular is th s true is evidenced by the large number of new courts that are spring Ing up throughout the c ty The state championship matches m both men s and women s singles and doubles will be held at the Country club the latter part of June or beg nning of July All the champions of last year will he back to defend their t ties and many new players have s grofied their intention to enter The ntermountain championsh p matches will be held in August in the courts of the Salt Lake Tennis club Plan Elimination Matches If Salt Lake can develop players of suff cient 6kill w th the racquet it is possible that some of the local talent will be entered in the national cham ponsh ps, to be held this year at the West Bide tennis courts in New York.
