Immediately after the statement had been signed fastening the crime upon Smith Detectives J EX Woodard and J A Egbert started out to search the city for the man A negro was taken from Oregon Short Une train Vo. 1 at 1 80 o dock this morning b the Ogden police. He gave the name of Edward Qotna and denied all knowledge of the crime. Lpon the re quest of the Salt Lake police the man Is being held In the Ogden jail |
