Show YELLOWSTONE ROAD The Commer al club ha been re quested to get n to ch w th all the c t es and towns along the "iellowstose park h ghway with reference to the holding of a convention at Pocatello some time in February or March for the benefit of the h ghway between Salt Lake and Yellowstone park The Salt Lake Yellowstone h ghway promises to be of mmense advantage to all the country between th s citv and the park From Salt Lake to Bnghain C ty a splendid h ghway already ex sts but improvements are necessary north ot that point and n Liaho In the Poca tello region and beyond to the park line the highway is in a satisfactory condi tion but much work must be done to maintain the road ana to ga n for t that amount of public ty which n II make it one of the fa onte roads of the tourists The '-alt Lake Yellowstone highway will not be merely a road to the park but it will be a thoroughfare by which the tourists may branch out into many side trips in Idaho and Utah Betnrn ing from the park the toansts if they wished could traverse Idaho on their trip to the coast The proposed convention is an excel lent idea At it the means of improv mg maintaining and advertising the road will be discussed. One proposal is that great boulders painted yellow shall be used as markers all along the high way It would be a unique and an ap propnate method of guiding the trav eler tt is fortunate that the Salt Lake Yellowstone route is receiving attent on at this time for failure to improve and boom the route would mean that tounst travel would reach the coast by a road north of the park, apd that all the country between the park and Salt Lake would be neglected The first to occupy the field will hold it |
