Show FIRST WARD CHAPEL DEDICATION IS HELD Address by President Joseph F. Smith Is the Feature of tho Services. With the finishing touches of decoration decora-tion completed only Saturday thc dedicatory dedi-catory services in 'the new First ward chapel, Eighth South and Eighth East streets, were held last evening,, a capacity capac-ity congregation of approximately 700 attending. Thc seVviccs were featured by an address ad-dress of felicitation by President Joseph F. Smith and a specially prepared pre-pared musical programme by the ward choir and a number of well-known soloists so-loists of tho city. Bishop John C. Duncan presidod, and he, together with his counselors, Edwin C. Da vies and Neils C. Christenson, received re-ceived many warm congratulations for the successful completion of tho chapel, the bishopric having had charge of all financial arrangements and the direction direc-tion of the construction. Thc musical programme, of excellence throughout, was givon under the direction direc-tion of Thomas Ashworth. Thc choir sang the anthems, "Bo Jovfnl in the Lord," "Song of tho Redeemed," and thc 'Inflammatlls),, with Miss Edna E'ang in the solo part. Mrs. Lizzie Thomas Edward sang "Fear Ye Not, O Israel" (Buck), in splendid voice and with fine effect. The benediction pronounced pro-nounced bv William Campbell concluded conclud-ed the services. |
