Show IOLD FOLKS ENJOY OUTIfyGJTBRIGHAM Drizzling Rain Does Not Dampen Arilor of the Pleasure Seekers. ALL WELL ENTERTAINED Interesting Programme of a Varie3 Nature Pleased the Elderly. Special to The Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY, Jane 27. An all-steel all-steel train of fifteen coaches pulled into the depot in this city over the Oregon Ore-gon Short line at 11 a. m., laden with S56 old folks and 105 attendants of Salt Lake City on their annual outing. A drizzling xain was falling all the while the veterans were detraining, but the old folks, somewhat weary after aft-er the ride of two and one-half honrs, were glad to get out even if it was raining, and transporting them up town was soon under way. This was no small I ask on account of the muddy condition of the streets, and also, perhaps, per-haps, a lack of facilities. About twenty-five automobiles were in waiting as were also three large capacity street cars, and the old lolks were moved rapidly by numerous trips from' the depot to the tabernacle by the automo- I biles and cars. Tho old folks wore m good spirits, and felicitations began as soon as some of the livelier ones alighted alight-ed from the train. Tho Bricham Military Mili-tary band was on hand and dispensed music until the cars were vacated. The tabornncle and contral school building, which is just across the street, wore changed into places of festivity, and all day these buildings were a living liv-ing mass of humanity. Besides, the hundreds from Salt Lako City, there were betwoen 200 and 300 from Box Elder countj-. and tho numerous attendants attend-ants ho were on hand io look after the welfare of the aged. An abundance abund-ance of eatables was provided, easily enough to feed 2000 people. This in-eluded in-eluded sandwiches, vegetables, berries and cream and hot drinks. The banquet ban-quet board was complete in every detail, de-tail, and the refreshments served were much enjoyed by the old folks. Day Without Flaw. Nothing occurred to mar the pleasures pleas-ures of tho day. The weather brightened bright-ened up in the afternoon and remained that way until about train time. Transportation Trans-portation of the veterans back to the depot commenced at 3:30 p. m., and all were comfortably seated in the cars for the return trip 'to Salt Lake at 4:30 when the train left. The Box Elder folks numbered 330 and 150 women and girls from this city aided at the tables. From expressions expres-sions heard after the meeting and before be-fore departing for the depot, all the visitors had a delightful outing and were well pleased with the hospitality of the people of this city. There were six veterans from Salt Lake City and three from Box Elder over the age of 90 years that participated.
