Show ROOMING HOUSE CASE IS NOW BEING HEARD Taking of testimony In the case of the state by Hugh L. Glenn against Kenneth Martin, proprietor of the Xorge rooming house, charged with maintaining a nuisance, occupied all day yesterday before be-fore Judge F. C. Loofbourow. The case probably will be decided today. The prosecution Is seeking to force the closing of the rooming house under the new abatement law. Testimony was offered of-fered to show that the place is conducted in a disorderly manner and without regard re-gard to law, that liquor Is, sold unlawfully unlaw-fully and that men and women resort to the place for Immoral purposes. Maude Howard and Margaret Henderson Hender-son were witnesses for the defense yesterday. yes-terday. They testified that the Norge was a respectable place and was conducted con-ducted In as lawful a manner as any of the lirst-class hotels. |
