Preparations arc rapidly being completed complet-ed for the big campaign of tho Commercial Commer-cial club for ncw members. Final details will bo settled Wednesday night, when a mass meeting of tho genoral staff with officers and soldiers of the Red. and Blue regiments and tho Independent scouts will bo held at 6 o'clock. Believing that every loyal citizen of Utah should assist In tho upbuild of the slate by joining forces with tho Commercial Com-mercial club In Its "war" for now members, mem-bers, resident and non-resident. President Presi-dent V. V. Armstrong has issued a proclamation pro-clamation calling tho mass meeting. President's Proclamation. The proclamation reads In part as follows. fol-lows. Our first membership mass meeting of the "club war" upon the city and surrounding country will bo held at the club building at S p, m. Wednesday. Wednes-day. April 10, 1912. The Twentieth Infantry military band will play at tho general headquarters head-quarters oC tho membership army. Headquarters will also bo established for the Blues and the Reds tho opposing op-posing forces In the great skirmish for members to begin Thursday, April 11. 12ach member of the club is supposed sup-posed to bo a member of ono of tho thirty-six companies and march to the front wtlh one of the thlrty-slx valiant captains. Volunteers aro now called for. Each member can get a badge and a supply sup-ply of membership blanks from the captain whom he wishes to support, and ho will immediately be "enlisted." "en-listed." 4? A "draft" may follow tho volunteer enlistment. It 13 ojepected that every member will enlist at once and help one or the other of the opposing regiments. The campaign will bo conducted according ac-cording to tho "rules of war" Issued from headquarters by tho commanding command-ing general. Wesley King, brlgadtor genoral, commanding, com-manding, has Issued tha following "rules of war," which will eovern tho skirmishes and activities of tho campaign; The first gun will bo fired at daybreak, day-break, Thursday, April 11, 1912. Any respectable citizen of Salt Lake may be llred on "at will" for resldont membership, and any Individual who is a citizen of the United States may be fired on "at any range" for nonresident non-resident membership. The charges will be S25 and 10, respectively. Members of the club are expected to serve In ono of the thlrty-slx companies com-panies and under one of tho captains named. A badge, red, blue or yellow, will b supplied each "soldier upon enlistment. en-listment. All recruits will be enlisted en-listed at "headquarters." All membership blanks must be accompanied ac-companied by checks and delivered to the several captains as fast as captured. cap-tured. All applications for membership rc-colved rc-colved since the beginning of tho campaign will bo divided equally on the night of the mass mooting by Lieutenant Colonel and Judge Advocate Advo-cate Theodore W. Whitley, who will thereafter bo the judge of all disputes, dis-putes, If any arise, between the several sev-eral regiments as to the credit for applications received. He will also divide between the regiments equally any subsequent "applications which come direct to tho flub or which are taken by any members of the general stuff. May Exchange "Prisoners." Tho Independent scouts will h privileged to prey upon "prospects" of either regiment. The Red and Bluo regiments will bo privileged to secure all non-resident membership applications that they can. These will be exchanged as "prisoners of war" and the Judge advocate will bo the umpire In each of theso exchanges. ex-changes. He will make his own rules on the exchange of prisoners. The flrnt skirmish will begin Thursday. Thurs-day. April 11, and close Saturday, April 20. Another skirmish will begin be-gin on Thursday, May 2, and end on Saturday. May 11. Tho third and last fklnnlsh will begin on Thursday, May 211. and conclude on Saturday, .nine 1. That will end the war between the opposing forces.
