A tragic motor ride reported from Foutainebleau is ono of tho worst accidents of tho kind that havo happened for some timo. A party of seven voung people set out in tho morning for a rido in a motor car through the forest ot I'ontainoblcau. Tho son of the owner of tho car was driving. Ho was known to havo had but little experience, and several persons per-sons warned him not to attempt the trip. Tllor drovo through one of tho most frequented parts of tho forest where there wero numerous holidny makers-The makers-The car suddenly swerved as it reached tho bottom of tho Sollo valley, and tho drivor no longer had control of it. Tn another ins'tant it dashed on to the roadside and was upset. Tho gasoline tank hurst and tho liquid soon took fire, so that the persons per-sons who tried to rcscuo tho unfortunnt occupants, pinned undo- tho car, coulu hardly approach. When the 3'oung pco-nlo pco-nlo wero extricated at last ono woman was already burned to death, and four othera were suffering from sovere burns. They wero taken to tho Fon-I Fon-I taincblcnu hospital and aro still in an unconscious condition. |
