Show HilEDS ATTEND FUWERALOF WftBREM High Tributes Paid Veteran Railroad Man's Memory at Elk's Club. Hundreds of .Elks and railway men gathered In the lodge, rooms of the Elks club yesterday to pay hist respects and love to the memory of Charles F. War-ron, War-ron, veteran railroad man, who died last Sunday. The services wore marked by the most Impressive rituals the lodge affords. The hall was crowded with sorrowing friends, who brought with them such a display of beautiful ilowcrs as has not boen gathered gath-ered at the club In many years. Prac-ticallv Prac-ticallv every railroad official of note In the city attended and many came from out of town. The members of the lodge turned out In hundreds. The Rev. tinier I. Goshen delivered the oulogv. He remarked In particular the charitable disposition of Mr. Wnrron. Without little ones and loved onc' of his own, he gave his last dollar to the Elks, to hn used by them In caring for the widows and orphans of other men In this, his final act, as In the dally affairs of life. Mr. Warren exhibited the instincts and the characteristics of a true gentleman, gentle-man, said the Uev. Mr. Goshen. Thomas Homer, lodge chuplaln, spoke an Impressive prayer. The lodgo ritual wna conducted by M. M. Warner, exalted ruler, assisted by the other lodge offlcera. Beautiful muslr was rendered, the Graham Gra-ham quartette singing "Wo Need Thee i Evcrv Hour" mid "Beautiful Isle of fcjomc-where." fcjomc-where." The floral pieces were so numerous numer-ous as to cntlrelv cover the casket nnd the pedestal upon which It stood. Among these was a great harp of roses, sent bv the Salt Lake Transportation club, of which Mr. Warren was a prominent member. mem-ber. Arge.nta lodge No. .1 of the Masonic order sent flowers woven into the lodge emblem. . , , , At the close of the services the casket was carried from the clubhouse to the S. D. Evans mortuary chapel across the street. The entire assemblage followed In Ha wake, with heads bared to the drizzling rain. The pallbearers were Joseph Jo-seph 'II- Manderfleltl. George W. Silks. F. 1 1. Worslev A, W. Raybould, A. J. Davis and S. C Shcrrlll. In pursuance of Mr Warren's request, the bodv was sent to Denver on the 5 o'clock Iraln. It will be cremated there and the ashes will be retunvd to Salt Lake to be Interred at Mount Olivet ceme-terv. ceme-terv. A. W. Raybould and E. R. Lewis, who were associated with Mr. Warren for many years In the local office of the Santa Fc. accompanied the body to Denver. |
