Show ARRANGE PROGRAMME j FOR iLLJRD FETE Free Peaches, Melons, Grapes and Apples Will Be Part of Sept. 14 Festival. Special to The Tribune. W1LLARD. Aug, 11. The annual celebration cele-bration of Willard's harvest home has been set for Thursday, September 14. The first time that this day was observed here was about fifteen years ago, and slnco then it has been an annual affair with but few Interruptions.. A. special effort Is mnde to have as many as possible possi-ble of the people who have formerly lived here return to renew acquaintances. Last year several hundred of tho town's former for-mer citizens took part in tho day's celebration, cele-bration, and it. ,1s thought that a. still greater number wjll return this year. The morning programme has been arranged ar-ranged as follows: Serenade bf the eity at daybreak: band concert at 10 q. m.; speech or welcome from 'the band sjand, George IL Lowe. The following programme pro-gramme will then be rendered in the tabernacle: Singing, the choir: prayer. John L. "Edwards; 6ong, R. B. Balrd and others; "Wlllard In 1864," William DovIb; solo, Harvdy Woodyatt; "Wlllard in 1911," .John A. Ward: solo. Miss Lottie Owens; music; martial band: reading, Miss Delta Cole; solo, William Woodyaft, prognostication, James M. White. After . the morning programme the ladles will serve a hip dinner to all ,Qf the visitors. Arrangements for this pleasant part of the day's festivities are. in the hands .of JSmma Mason and Gwen-nle Gwen-nle Balrd. and they promise that there will he plenty of eatables for tho large , number pf visitors. During the " entire afternoon free pcachos. .melons; cantaloupes, grapes, apples ap-ples and.all other kinds of fruits will be distributed. An abundance of every kind has already been donated, and every person per-son can have, all that ho or she can possibly eat. Bosldes the fruit distributed there will be a great amount of It on exhibition and fancy prizes will be given to the persons having the best, samples of the various fruits. After the prizes arc given this same choice fruit will bo distributed to thc visitors to take home and eat and admire at leisure. Special rates have been secured from all Utah and Idaho points and a banner crowd Ib expected. Both the Oregon Short Line and the Interurban roads will run special cars. Attractions of various kinds, basideo those enumerated, are being arranged for the afternoon. The day's celobration will be brought to a close with a- Wlllard harvest home dance in the opera hall. |
