Show JOHN FOWLER IS SEHmHID Well Known Young Man Found in Daed Condition and Buried in Mud; John M. Fowler, 2S years old, of 20S North West Temple stroet. a lovolman In the employ of the city engineer's office, of-fice, was found In a dazed condition shortly short-ly beforo midnight Saturday In an alloy leading back of the Salt Lake Livery and Transfer company's quarters on West Temple street between South Temple and First South streets. Fowler was discovered, almost burled In the deep mud, by an employee of tho transfer company, who notllled the police, po-lice, and he was taken to the city emergency emer-gency hospital. Hero examination showed that Fowler hnd suffered numerous deep lacerations of the scalp, laying bare tho skull in several places. His right ear was badly cut and many cuts and bruises were on the right side of his face. Dr. H. B. Spraguo, who dressed Fowler's Fow-ler's Injuries, expressed the opinion that, while serious, they would not prove fatal. How Fowler received his Injuries Is undetermined, but It Is believed that he was knocked down by some vehicle passing pass-ing through tho alloy, rendered temporarily tempo-rarily unconscious and almost suffocated by the deep mud, and while lying helpless help-less was run over by other vehicles, tho drivers fnlllng to observe the man in the darkness. Fowler was detained In the omergoncy hospital for the night and will be taken to his homo today. |
