The property Is held for approximately $17,000. The lot Is just west of Second East street, on the north side of Flrpt South street, and Is regarded as n most desirable desir-able site (or a building of the class contemplated con-templated by the Knights of Columbus. Tentative plan? fnr the building have already al-ready been drawn by Bornnrd O. Mecklenburg, Meck-lenburg, a local architect. These plans now under consideration provide for a building of six stories, with storerooms on the ground floor. It is probable that two or threo floors will be used for office? of-fice? and the upper floors will be used by tho Knights of Columbus for lodge-rooms, lodge-rooms, reading room and general club purposes. In the search for a site for the building, build-ing, the Knighiii of Columbus considered tho purchase of old St. Mark's school property, now occupied by the. Volunteers of America, which was sold for 530,000 this week. |
