Nelll. Commissioner Nclll. when informod early this morning by the Associated Press that a strike of the firemen on the western roads hnd been ordered, stated that he had heard nothing of the latest development In the situation. "If the strike has been ordered." said Mr. Nelll, "and ono side appoals to the interstate commerce commission under the terms of the Erdman act for Intercession Inter-cession In tho matter, we can go out there and try to bring about a settlement of tho difficulties. If tho men go out and an appeal from either sldo Is mado to the. commission, it will act promptly and do all in Its power to settle the controversy."
