Demlor says that there will be over 1000 people leave Oakland for this city In the next few days, and he expects to soe five times as many strans-ers strans-ers here for the meeting than there wore last year. A special car IcTt Oakland Friday with bookmakers and their clerks, and tonight several special horse trains will loave for this city. All the best California horses will be shipped hero, and Dauiior said that tho California peoplo looked upon Utah as a coming racing center and one which will hold Its own with any of the California or eastern tracks. 11. I. Wilson, proprietor of the Butte hotel and president of the Butte Jockey, club, arrived Friday and will spond somo time here looking after his horses which ho will raco on the Buena Vista track. Arthur L. Elrod, tho New York ring master, dropped ln Friday after a long ride over the country and expects to remain re-main here for a short time to take In the races. Silver Boll, one of tho oldest bookies, book-ies, and who Is known all over tho country, coun-try, is also a lato addition, surprising many of, his friends by coming here. Jockey Wilson is here. He Is one of the best little riders In the country and ho expects to carry away the biggest number of victories on the local track. If all tho jockeys are coming here who have been announced, Wilson will have some competition. Horses arc beginning to arrive. Friday Johnson and Gray came In with soven head, W. C. Powell and J. T. Strlto came with fivo head each. C. Hornig four and Allen and Hensley brought in eleven head.
