Mrs. Seager is the former Miss Dorothy Hodson, a niyte at the Bingham hospital and clinic the past several years. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Newman and children of Vallejo, Cal., are spending this week in Bingham and Provo, visiting relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nichols left Tuesday morning for 10 days in Los Angeles. Mrs. Fanny Johnson, who was operated on at the 'Bingham hospital Thursday, is reported as progressing nicely. Anna Lee Burress, daughter of j Mr. and Mrs. Leland G. Burress, came home Monday evening af-ter a vacation in Gun-nison with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton S. Eggert-sen- . Art Cook reported back to work on the Salt Lake county garbage truck Monday after a five-wee- k layoff following an accident in which he suffered three broken ribs. LOCALNOTES Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Adderlcy and sons, Chick and Ren, were home Labor day after a delight-ful vacation of over two weeks. They went to Lake Tahoe, San Fancisco, Hollywood, Tia Juana, Cong Beach, San Diego, Reno and Boulder dam. Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister and daughter, Sally Ann, were dinner guests Labor day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Jacobson and daughter, Mary Agnes. Later the couples went swimming at Wasatch plunge. The occasion was the McAllis-ter's wedding anniversary. Gail Shelley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shelley, enroll-ed this week at Tooele high school. En route to Los Angeles, Miss - Mary Helen Baum of Frankfort, Indiana, arrived Wednesday to spend a day with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Alger Baum J of Lead Mine. Mrs. George Kampros and two daughters of Lead Mine left Fri-day to spend two weeks with relatives in Helper. Paul Parissenti plans to leave today (Friday) for Los Angeles to attend college this year. He will join his stepfather and moth-er, Mr. and Mrs. James Dell Os-b- el at Huntington Park, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Max Spendlove of Salt Lake City spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Spend- love. Formerly employed by the Utah Power and Light company here, Max Is now assistant en-gineer at the U. S. bureau of mines in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Larson of Afton, Wyo., left Saturday for their home after spending the summer here. Mr. Larson is prin-cip- al of the Afton grade school. Johanson and Denece. a OPERATION OF HUGE COPPER PROJECT NEARS MORENCI, Arizona An open pit copper mine, one of the larg-est privately financed develop-ment projects in the nation's his-tory, will soon begin full opera-tion. Equipment totaling $34,000,000 will be providedTto move 75,000 tons of material every 24 hours-O-this amount, 25,000 tons will be actual copper ore, from which an average of 500,000 pounds of copper will be extracted. Construction for the job in-cludes a smoke stack 602 feet high; a power plant, smelter, mill, electric carpenter and machine shops and a warehouse. Operations have been set for Nov. 1, six months ahead of schedule.
