Show I Eagles From Three States Are in iSalt Lake City to Participate. BOISE AND IDAHO FALLS AFTER THE NEXT MEET Governor Spry to Deliver Ad-Ircss Ad-Ircss of Welcome to Visitors Visi-tors at Noon Today. Delegates from Utah, idnho and No-vada No-vada are here to be in attendance at the convention of Eagles, -which will be called to order at the F. O. E. headquarters headquar-ters in the Mackintosh building at 12 o'clock today by Grand Stale Deputy H. S. McCann of Salt Lake ncrlc No. 67. A great deal of interest is being manifested, and from indications tho gathering will bo highly successful. A big delegation from Idaho Falls and Boise arrived in the city Wednesday and, after securing quarters, were taken to the club rooms and later about the city. A. G. MiHor. representing Boise, Is on hand ready to make a strong bid for tho next convention conven-tion to bo held there. Idaho Falls is represented by a full delegation of ion members, headed by Judge E. M. Holden and Wes Holden. in addition to about twenty strong boosters who como to ZIon with tho determination to win the convention for thoir city. They have opened headquarters In room 242, "Wilson hotel, where a committee is on duty all the time to entertain visiting delegates. It is tho intention of tho Idaho Fall's boosters to tender a sightseeing tour of the city to the local aerie and all visiting delegates. Besides plenty of money to" entertain and boost the city, the delegation brought -with it 5000 cigars manufactured in Idaho Falls, whleh will be distributed among tho delegates. Badges Distributed. Badges are being distributed by the boosters, bearing the following lettering: "Idaho Fails. Trl-State Convention 1911. Idaho's Convention City." The claim of the delegation is that Idaho Falls is the best equipped convention city in Idaho for the convention, as it has ample railroad rail-road facilities and hotel accommodations, and an auditorium with a seating capacity ca-pacity of 1200 Is now being constructed. Governor William Spry will deliver the address of welcome when the convention convenes. Matters pertaining to the trl-statc trl-statc aeries will Le discussed and many important issues considered for more efficient organization, which will tend to strengthen the bond of fraternity between the subordinate aeries and their membership member-ship within a state or district. Sessions will be held here Friday and Saturday. On Friday evcniri" an exemplification of ritual contest will be participated in by Salt I.ake team No. 67 and Ogden aerie team No. IS, for a prize of $100. Committees Appointed. Grand State Deputy McCann has appointed ap-pointed tho following committees, which will be added to as the delegates arrive: Committee on Credentials Andrew Mutchler, Pocatello; M. M. Beaver. Besides the banquets which will be held at tho temple, special committees have been appointed to escort the visitors about the town and to the various resorts, re-sorts, and to see to it generally that they enjoy themselves while in the city. |
