| Show THE the peoples party by their aple bavo commute 1 goo imla and tried men for election in this city op monday net there havy been wild and bitter cast especially upon the gentleman who heads the list as nominee for mayor there were two or three and only taru or three who expressed themselves in convention as being hostile to Hox Jons E BOOTH the choice for mayor the other two or three however who voted against MR BOOTH did not during the discussion utter a word against him on the other hand a score of delegates arose and one after another led him and bis fitness for the position tho howling clamor and prejudice again s MB BOOTH comes not from the people or their delegates but from a score or so new comers and a few older citizens who for personal reasons prefer anybody else E booth this howl against his nomination does not come from substantial citizens but from a pack of creatures bailing from counties south of this city and in colorado aud other eastern points who within the last throe montas have migrated hither for mercenary purposes it was a pitiable sight in the convention yesterday to witness young men from one of our southern counties who up to that time were supposed to bo peoples party men howling and yelling during the proceedings against the choice of provos citizens and with whom these new comers received most hospitably by us because they were supposed to belong to the same faith political and religions as we were actually liberala Liberal 3 and shouted and yelled until throats were sore in denunciation of the action of the convention and when the chief bolt erthe man who bad assumed to lead the opposition and enticed younger and one or two imprudent delegates to his assistance announced his purpose of dividing the peopled People 8 party those same new comers took part with the liberals and their exponent in the per 60 not this bolter in trying to cry down the men who were honestly se eking after the best and men for representatives of the peoples party |
