The Leland Stan ford university team may not be allowed to compete In the Western Intercolle-Sectr?ck,and Intercolle-Sectr?ck,and nid championships here next Saturday. It was announced today that the California athletes had been suspended sus-pended by the Amateur A. U., for taking part In a dual meet with the Unlvcrsltv ho Siti!"id0- The c:loi'ado Institution.' has withdrawn from the Rocky Mountain ctlon of the A, A. L. and has been placed under the ban. This will cause an Interesting complication compli-cation between the conference collets and the A. A. u. The A. A. U. rcalh-has rcalh-has nothlncr to do with the running or the intercollegiate meet, but It could suspend sus-pend all the athletes who take part In such meet and that would prevent them from competing In any open meets. No definite decision will be made bv the conference authorities, as It Is hoped tho Stanford teom may be reinstated when all the facts arc known by the A. A. I., officials. |
