thanksgiving DAY it was passed quietly in the wen city SERVICES AT THE CHURCHES we have indeed cause to be thankful for tile manifold blessings 61 tho past year the stoart ay day waa spent quietly and peacefully in boisis ho isis in the nain were closed giving metora and employees a chance to intend services und partake of the turkey surrounded by their families and friends unfortunately the saloons ere not closed and in the afternoon an occasional drunk appeared on the st icet returning thanks in some instances in a boisterous way foi the excellent liquor with which he had been provided many citizens visited the canyons and shores of the lake burning powder in their efforts to secure ducks and other game in the evening a beacon light appeared on the top of the east mountain plainly visible for miles around
