the committee on claims and public accounts to whom was referred the petition of mrs mary A wilcken Wilc kin asking for an appropriation to cover the deficiency in the salary of the late august wilcken that the claim be allowed the report was adopted mr bryan introduced 0 F 16 a bill amending chapter 10 section 2006 of the compiled laws of utah territory in relation to gaming the amendment strikes out the word banking in the line reading any banking game the bill waa read and filed for third readi SC F jno 5 a bill for an act to provide or the classification and government of municipal corporations was taken up on its third reading mr woolley offered ahree amendments to the bill all of which were adopted mr smoot stated diat while he was in sympathy with the lull he did not think the provisions of section 2 could be complied with considerable discussion followed by several members and finally on motion of mr marshall the bill passed the bill is the same with the exception of the amendments mentioned in our last issue as that published in the of the the council was notified that the house had passed the memorial in relation to the appointment of a fourth judge and asking for the amendment of the alien land act the council was notified that the house had adopted house concurrent resolution no 13 providing for the appointment of a committee to consist of two members of the house and one from the council to audit the accounts of the territorial treasurer the resolution was concurred in and mr oisen appointed as a member of the committee I 1 A communication was received from the house notifying the council that it had adopted the house concurrent resolution aso 14 providing that no bill shall be introduced in either house after march ast 1st without the consent of two thirds of the members concurred in adjourned HOUSE the speaker presented the petition of richard J filce asking that the county roada and the forks thereof be properly designated by signs A G johnann Joh naon ex assessor and collector of thoele tooele county asked to be reimbursed in the sum of tabea on sheep not collected because they had been paid in other counties referred to committee on claims mr farsworth presented a petition asking that beaver county be reimbursed in the sum ef 80 paid by the county but which should have been assumed by the territory in the case of andy calton committee on claims and appropriations auditor clayton presented as follows in looking over abe bill reported ly clark yesterday 1 notice the etem of 2000 for mant ol 01 counsel included heretofore very mr wood presented a petition from the citizens of moab emery comaty asking that be appropriated for the improvement pro of a highway in emery county referred to the committee on highways mr creer presented the petition of T R cutler and others of lehi calling the attention of the assembly to the several acts of congress appropriating lands and money to the various states and territories of abe united states for the establishment of agricultural colleges experimental stations etc and especially to what is known as the hatch bill of last congress appropriating 1500 per annum for the use and purpose of an agricultural experiment station and they ask for the passage of all necessary legislation to make as much as possible of said acts available to the territory and especially the provisions of the aforementioned afore mentioned hatch bill they further ask that the aforesaid experimental station be located at lehi and oft er to donate 1500 for the purchase of suitable lands to determine such other questions as are of practical and scientific importance to this territory for the prosecution of the foregoing there shall be appointed u committee of three persons duty it shall bo to employ the service of 1 competent geologist also take oversight receive reports from and report to the next legislative assembly the ora done under tho provisions of aliis twenty one miles referred to tha committee on highways mr farsworth presented a petition from the county court of beaver county representing eliat the northern boundary line of beaver county was not
