Show LAST SERVICES IN OLD WESTMINSTER CHURCH The last religious services at the old Westminster church edifice, on Fourth AVosI, between First und Second South streel.s, were conducted there Sunduy evening. A new chapel Is now In tho process of construction on tho corner of Fifth South and Second Went streets and until Its completion services will be held at Odd Fellows' hall, 30 Postofflco place. Thoro was a very large congregation present Sunday evening, the seating capacity ca-pacity being taxed to Its capacity. Addresses Ad-dresses were mudo by J. H. Tolles, an elder of the church; James Walker, a member of the board of truittees; .7. W. Phillips and others, and appropriate music whs itirniethed by tho choir. The closing hymn. "Rock of Ages. Cleft for Me," was sung by the congregation. The old church was first hullt In 1884-SG. the adobo parr In the rear being erected two yearn prior to the brick section. At that time It consisted of but a mere handful of people, but it has since grown until tho Westminster church has a large membership. Tho history of the church was gone Into very carefully In a paper by Mrs. Stewart McLeese. which wns read at a .special meeting hold at the church laet Friday evening. In addition to Mrs. McL.eeso'K paper, Mrs. J. II. Arnold, wlfo of a former pastor of tho church, mado a few remarks on lta growth and ltw future prospect, and MIsa Rosi Smlthcn rendered a vocal solo. A communication from thy Rev McLuIn W. Davis, formerly pastor of the church , and now of Green River, wus read. A plan to assist In raising building funds wus launched at the meejlng and a resolution wua adopted to put It into I effect as soon an possible.
