Show MUSI GET PERMIT 10 VIS8T STATE PUSH Board of Corrections Intends to Keep Close Tab on All Visitors. Unless 3'ou arc accompanied by a deputy dep-uty sheriff with a pair of bracelets you will have to get a permit from the state board of corrections or the warden war-den if you want to visit the staic prison hereafter. Ln the first instance you needn't bother, for the deputy sheriff will effect enfree for you with a permit in the nature of a warrant. The state Ijoard of corrections wishes to keep tab on those who aro visiting the stato prison and for this reason has instituted the permit S3tem. The board is composed of Governor Spry, Dr. G. 13. Pfout. and Judge S. V. Stewart, Stew-art, any one of whom is empowered to issue visiting permits if'he sees fit. If tho person desiring to visit the prison can't find any one of these officials he may apply to Arthur Pratt, wardeu, at tho prison for permission to go through tlie institution. Tho admission fee. which goes tn tho library fund, remains the same. 15 cents. Visirors were barred for several weeks preceding the national encampment encamp-ment of the Grand Armv of the Republic Re-public on account of smallpox, but the quarantine was reeonllv raised and visitors vis-itors arc now admitted daily except Sunday provided thev apply between 9:30 and 11:30 o'clock in the morning or 1:30 and o o'clock in the afternoon and have the necessary permit, of course. Callers at the institution sometimes some-times number as high as seventy-five a day. |
