Show rEN-DAY STOPOVERS ILL JBTJE MADE Privileges at Salt Lake and Ogden Not Authorized l)y Southern Pacific. The ten-day stopover privilegea recently re-cently granted by the Westorn Passon-ger. Passon-ger. association at this city and Ogden on all first and second class tickets reading through the two points will not be made on westbound tickets, according accord-ing to information received here Wednesday. These privileges were not authorized by the Southern Pacific railroad rail-road or tho San Pedro, Los Angeles & bait Lake railroad, and S. K. Hooper, genera passenger agent of the Denver tc liio Grande railroad, hns decided to cancel his arrangements for ten-day stopovers at Utah common points on all -westbound tickets. The Transcontinental Tnsscngcr association as-sociation has issued a bulletin declaring declar-ing that the legislation of the Western Passenger association should not have any relation to transcontinental trnffie. The notice applys to tho Denver & ?io Grande, Oregon Short Line, Salt Lake Route, Union Pacific and the Southern Pacific and is effective September 20. Tho stopover privileges on eastbound tickets have not been changed. Those interested in the future of Salt Lake regret to hear that the misunderstanding misunderstand-ing has occurred, for tho stopovers on westbound tickets would have been of great value to this city. In fact, there are few that can realize what, it would have meant had the stopovers been authorized. |
