The affirmative was taken by Cloyd WooJey. an alternate on -the school debating de-bating team,' and "Arthur Berryman. Wbo-ley's Wbo-ley's talk was Interesting throughout, especially es-pecially in the rebuttal. On tho negative were Lewis Karrick as first speaker and Morris Rosenblatt. The Judges were Lawrence Law-rence ( Clayton, , Taylor Carmlchel and Frank Whitney. t 1 Tho four-period' history class dobated the question, "Resolved, that tho postal savings bank should be established through tho United States," the Judges rendering tho decision in favor of tho affirmative, af-firmative, 'which was presented by Moylo Gray as leader and Miss Zlna Reese, On tho negative sldo Miss Nanna wn3 absent, so tho negative arguments wore carried alone by Ross Hartwoll. The affirmative af-firmative speakers will bo John Stewart and Miss Lenor Bush and tho negative speakers Glecd Miller and John Perkins. t Manager Wooley of the debating team states that the gate receipts were more thnn enough to pav tho expenses of the Park City team. Just what will be dono with tin? money that is. left over is not as yet, knownt.but it will moro than likely like-ly be deposited to be used for future debating de-bating teams. Ernest Quayle, who is the head of the junior class debate work, was credited by Manager Wooley with selling the largost number of tickets for the in-torscholastic in-torscholastic debate. Forty-one tickets wore disposed of by Mr. Quayle. ( In return for the work of the basketball basket-ball players on the boys' team, Manager Fitzpatrlck has placed an order for caps. They. will be red with a large black "il" in front and with a small black "B" on each side. Tho meaning of tho letters Is "High school basket ball." The caps will he distributed among the boys near the close of the-season. Only two games ure yet to bo played. The' date set'for the first of the senior review examinations Is Friday, April -', when examinations will be given in spelling spell-ing and arithmetic. Those to be given In geography and grammar will be after the spring vacation. Prof. I D. Travis, who has been conducting the reviews, will also have charge of tho examinations. Senior students are anxiously waiting for the day to come, as.it will decldo whether or not they will be able to graduate. - The present week is the last week of tho -second month and a number of students stu-dents are busy making up work that ha-s been missed throughout the past three weeks. Students are not allowed to make up work nfter the marks have been sent to the office. u The students of the commercial class are working hard, as an examination will be given in a short time that will test their ability in speed work, both In shorthand short-hand and typewriting. The examinations will bo requirements and every studont must attain a good standing. , Bvcrv student of the school is looking forward to the spring vacation, which will he an entire week, commencing April 5. There was a .doubt as to whether there would be the usual recreation week, but it is now a certainty. The cadet battalion drilled Monday afternoon aft-ernoon on extended order ruovemnts. In preparation for the rovlew that will be made bv Admiral R. 1. Evans. A number num-ber of old officers were present during the drill. |
