Show HEAT COMPLAINTS NOT JUSTIFIABLE The hottest and coolest days for the month of July fell on July 23 and July 1, respectively. An interesting coincidence, it is reported by Weather Observer Joseph Spendlove, is that in 1940 the hottest and coolest July days fell on those same dates, July 23 and July 1. The temperatures recorded at the substation were 92 degrees, warmest for the month, and 59 degrees, low point recorded by the thermometer. Average temperature for July was 70 degrees, just five degrees cooler than the average of July 1940. All in all, the month just ended was comfortable for midsummer, mid-summer, with 10 clear days, nine cloudy days and 12 part cloudy. There were 2.48 inches of precipitation. |
