Private Wesley Longfellow left last Friday to return to Fort Lewis. Wash., after a 10 day furlough fur-lough spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Longfellow. A delightful vacation in California Cali-fornia ended July 23 for Mr. and Mrs. H. Fred Dunn. During their 11 day stay they were guests in Los Angeles of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harold Dunn and in Santa Maria with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Sears. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gunderson and daughter, Janet, of Eureka, were at the Dunn home here! with Jack and Patsy Dunn in the j absence of their parents. Here for two weeks' visit, Kendall Jones of Hollywood arrived ar-rived Saturday evening to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jones. A house guest at the Jones home the forepart of the week was Stanley Perkins of Salt Lake City. Owen Despain, cashier at the days' stay here with his parents Mr and Mrs. Alger Baum of Lead Mine, First Class Private Julian Baum was honored at dm-ner dm-ner Monday evening at the Baum home. Others present were Misa Helen Marks, Miss Marion Copenhaver, Cop-enhaver, Sonny Noland and Steve Amicone of Murray, also home on furlough and returning to Fort Lewis on the same train with Julian. Awav nearly a month, Mr. and Mrs f. A. Masters had an enjoyable en-joyable vacation in the cool northwest and Pacific coast, returning re-turning home July 24. They wen to Vancouver and Victoria; spent some time with their son and ! daughter-in-law, Lieutenant and Mrs. Avery W. Masters, and made acquaintance of a grandson, grand-son, little David Avery Masters, not quite a month old, at tort Lewis, Wash.; and then traveled down the coast to San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coffey and sons, Jimmy and Jerry Dennis, of U. S. Mine, returned Sunday from a week's stay in Eureka. . , Mrs. D. E. Ireland entertained at luncheon Friday for Miss Hazel Ha-zel White of St. Louis, Mo., who is visiting in Salt Lake City with Dr. and Mrs. E. E. Hartwell of 1025 McClelland street. August 7 at the Masonic Ma-sonic hall. Leave For New York Mr. and Mrs. James M. Sul-lenger Sul-lenger left Monday for New York City, where Mr. Sullenger has been ordered by the United States Stat-es navy for two or three months' intensive training in the submarine sub-marine department. Mr. Sullen-ger's Sullen-ger's orders to report to Pearl Harbor, T.H., for duty in the near future were hurriedly and unexpectedly rescinded. He concluded con-cluded two months' submarine training at New London, Conn., this summer. LOCAL NOTES Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Nelson of Washington, D. C, have announced an-nounced arrival of a daughter, born Ju'.v 25. Mrs. Nelson is the former Miss Beth Christensen, and both she and her husband formerly lived Mere. Mrs. P. M. Christensen, Mrs. Nelson's mother, moth-er, has been at the capitol with her daughter several months. Mrs. Tony Azzelio and daughter, daugh-ter, Marie, left Wednesday for Los Angeles to visit Attelio Azzelio Az-zelio and to attend graduation ceremonies at Woodbury's college, col-lege, where Attelio is graduating. graduat-ing. Mrs. Richard Connary of 1359 Roosevelt avenue, Salt Lake City, had with her Sunday her six daughters and two sons and their families, making 45 in all, at a reunion in Liberty park. Attending from Bingham were Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Householder and family. Mr. and Mrs Malloy Schrowl and family left Wednesday for their home at Sarcoxie, Mo., after af-ter a two-week visit with Mrs. Schrowl's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Prigmore. While they were here the visitors enjoyed en-joyed a fishing trip on the Salmon Sal-mon river in Idaho, a visit to Saltair, attended Covered Wagon day made sightseeing trips to points of interest nearby. Nelson and children, child-ren, MaReen and Miles, left Wednesday Wed-nesday to visit in Roosevelt with Mrs. Nelson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer P. Edwards. Mrs. Nelson's brother, William Homer Edwards, who has been attending attend-ing University of Utah summer school and who visited here last week-end, went to Roosevelt with his sister and family. Among the many from Bingham Bing-ham Canyon at American Fork Tuesday for Poultry day were Mr. and Mrs. Dean J. Ham and daughter, LaDean, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wright and small son, Dallas. Russell Robison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Robison, returned Wednesday evening after visiting visit-ing his aunt, Mrs. Robert Proctor of Pleasant Grove, for the past three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Connary Con-nary and daughter, Melba, and son, Billy, and Mrs- Rudolph Blass, all of Compton, Cal., were guests of Mr, and Mrs. Ed Shaw Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl N.
