Granquist and Jesse M. Southwell return-ed home Sunday from a week-en- d trip to Moon lake. Mr. and Mrs. Art J. Sorenson spent July 24 at Ogden as guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Wilcox. The Pioneer days rodeo was es-pecially enjoyable this year, the Sorensons report. Mrs. Richard Ablett and dau-ghter, Arlene, and Mrs. Ablett's sister, Miss Edna McGovern, left Thursday for their home at Des Moines, Iowa, after an enjoyable 10-d- visit with Mrs. Ablett's brother-in-la- w and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Al J. Ablett. During their stay the visitors toured nearby spots of interest and expressed themselves as delighted with Utah's scenery. Miss Leona Keeler left Sun-day for her home after a seven week's stay with relatives and friends in Salt Lake City and here as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Art J. Sorenson. Barbara Kaye Angus, a dau-ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton An-gus, returned Saturday from a week's visit with her aunt, Mrs. James Forman of Sugarhouse, formerly of Bingham. The Sodality of Our Lady met at the rectory of the Holy Ros-ary Catholic church Monday ev-ening with President Beverly Scussel in charge. Arrangements were made for an outing held at Lagoon Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Al Kastelic and son, Ronnie, of Copperton, left Sunday for two weeks in Ore-gon, Washington and Canada. Miss Dorothy Steele, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Steele of Copper Heights, is expected home within the next few days from a vacation of over two weeks at the Robinson Bar ranch in Idaho and at Sun Valley. Miss Steele is with a party of friends from Salt Lake City. Miss Mabel Pappas of Magna arrived Sunday to be a guest for two weeks at the home of her brother-in-la- w and sister, Mr-an- Mrs. Nick P. Floros of Lead Mine. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Chaffos and daughter, Miss Vangie, and sons, Nick and Louis, of Salt Lake .City, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drossos. Distinguished sightseers in Bingham Canyon Wednesday in-cluded Gordon S. Rentschler, chairman of the board of the Na-tional City bank, New York City, Mrs. Rentschler and two daugh-ters, Faith and Phoebe, and D. Arthur Forman of New York City. They were accompanied here and to Magna and Arthur by J. D. Shilling, assistant to the general manager of the Cop- - U5 U per company. Miss Gail Shelley, daughter of Mr. and .Mrs. Wayne L. Shelley, came home Tuesday from a visit with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Bennett of American Fork. Her parents and sister, Norma, and Mary Alice Johnson went to American Fork for the Poultry day celebration. Following a week's stay here with an uncle, D. F. Johanson, and an aunt, Mrs. E. J. House-holder, David Connary, son of Mrs. Florence Connary of Los Angeles, left Monday to visit in Monroe, Utah, before returning home. David was with another uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Connary, and their daughter, Melba, and son, Billy, of Compton, Cal., who visited the Householders here and with other relatives in Salt Lake City. Dinner guests Saturday even-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Householder were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Connary and family and Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Miller of Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Miller of Copperton and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitmore and son of Lark. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wolfe left July 24 for a 10-d- ay vaca-tion in California. They will visit Mr. Wolfe's brother-in-la- w and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Russell, and family, of Palo Alto. Mrs. W. S. Moore of Kansas City arrived Saturday night to visit several weeks with her sis-ter and brother-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Webb. This is Mrs. Moore's third visit to Utah. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Barton and daughters, Meris, Carol and Kay, of 38 Main street, returned yes-terday afternoon from a four-da- y visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Barton at Blanding. South-ern Utah at this time is very beautiful and cool, the Bartons found. Mrs. E. S. Moore and son, Tommy, of Pampa, Texas, are visiting this week with Mrs. Wil-liam Swairiston. The Rev. Richard M. Duffy of Colorado Springs, Colo., arrived Monday to be a guest for several days of the Rev. Daniel E. Leahy. ' Mrs. Annie C. Lee of Salt Lake City was a guest Pioneer day of her son-in-la- w and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Panas. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McLoed and sons, Al and Ted, and dau-ghter, Nan, of Tennant, Cal., ar-rived Monday afternoon to visit a week with Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Davis. Mrs. McLoed is a sister of Mr. Davis. LOCALNOTES Mr. and Mrs. Glen Davies and daughter, Joy Dean, and small son, Glen, returned Monday ev-ening from a three-da- y trip to Bryce and Zion national parks and Fish Jake. Miss Donna Rawlings, daugh-ter of George II. Rawlings, left Saturday for a two week stay in Long Beach, Cal., with her moth-er and sisters. Billy and Joyce Rawlings, children of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Rawlings, left Wednesday to vis-it their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sparkes of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. John Turner and family left Wednesday evening for a four-da- y stay at Luke's Hot Pots. Mr Turner's mother, Mrs. Ben Turner of Salt Lake City, accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Booth and son, Richard, expect to join the Turners Fri-day night for one day. Mrs. Cleve Howe and small son left Monday for their home at Warrenton, Ore., after a month's visit here with her par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Panos. A christening for the baby, nam-ed George Cleve Howe, was held at the Panos home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elwcfod Johnson and children, Bonnie and Tom-my, left Sunday to vacation in Yellowstone national park. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McNeely entertained neighbors in Mark-ha- m Sunday afternoon with a showing of colored pictures tak-en recently of Glacier national park and another of the Flag day parade. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Aven of 206 Eighth avenue, Salt' Lake City and formerly of Copperfield, left Thursday to make their home in Maywocd, Cal. They will reside at 5227 Atlantic av-enue.
