He has lost considerable time on I this account, and It Is likely that he will I drop his studies. I u n The senior class will put In considerable considera-ble time In organizing a strong debating team, for there Is a possibility that tho high schools of the state will hold de-1 de-1 bates in the early spring:. The senior dc-1 dc-1 bating outlook Is brightening, for Lloyd Woolley. who won second place In the 1 state oratorical contest last year, has 1 again entered school, and states that he I expect3 to take up the work. 1 W V ! As soon as the second semester Is well I under way, Principal Eaton will begin I to go over the records of the senior stu-t stu-t dents. The records arc examined Individually Indi-vidually and the credits summed up to see what the students' chances are for graduation. grad-uation. u a All records for the past semester have been turned In at the office and are being be-ing recorded on the office books. It will not be long before the final averages will be put on the report cards and given to ' the students. " M M The junior class Is beginning to plan for 1 tho senior reception that Is generally given at the close of the year. The class is In good financial condition hut will give a dance tho Litter part of March In order to increase the capital with which It will work. It is the munition of the class to give the graduates a blp sendoff. -V u The history classes arc hadly In need of reference hooks of tho latest publication, and In order to secure them, a rule has bfen made whereby any student In tho classes who Is seen to mark a desk is lined a small sum. From the way the fund Is Increasing the desks must be totally to-tally disfigured, but nevertheless It will be but a short time before a complete set of books Is in Professor Travis's library, i. ,1 . The executive committee of the sophomore sopho-more class will hold .1 meeting Thursday afternocn, when final plans for the dance will be made. All members of the class are expected to report at tho "gym" Friday Fri-day during their vacant periods In order to help along in tho decorations. 1 w At the close of drill Friday the cadet officers will discuss their coming dance. There is considerable time left to work In and not a single thing will be left undone un-done to make the affair tho ono big social event of tho year. , Tin; midyear freshies will meet Friday afternoon in their studyroom, when Principal Prin-cipal Katon will give them some advice about high school life and work. |
