Show CONDUCTOR W. A. DAVIS IS INSTAHTLY KILLED Wcll-Known Ogden Railroad Man Meets Death Under Car Wheels. :37: Special to Tho Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY, Oct. G. W. A. Davis, an Oregon Short Lino conductor, was Instantly In-stantly killed In this city this morning by being run over by a freight train. Freight train No. 75 arrived In this clty at 10;30. and it is customary for the conductor con-ductor to como to tho head of the train. Ho didn't show up today, however, and tho train crew thought littlo of it. About half an hour lutcr, when the crew had finished tho work of unloading and wero ready to depart, the mon became quite alarmed. They detached the engine Immediately and started back over tho line, when, reaching a point about one-half mllo south, they found tho mangled remains of Mr. Davis scattered along the track. It Is supposed by the train crow that the conductor was making his way to the head of the train, when in stepping from ono car to another ho lost his footing and fell between the cars. Mr. Davis was a married man and was about 35 years old. Tho remains were hurried to Ogdcn. whero they will bo prepared for burial. The officers of this city considered it unnecessary to hold an Inquest over the body. |
