The accident happoned two miles cast of Laporte. When the water gaugo burst, the fireman and brakeman, who believed the boiler was about to blow up, Jumped. The brakeman landed on nls head and was instantly killed. The fireman rolled buck against bis train when ho Jumped and his left leg and right foot wero crushed. Engineer Moorohouse stuck to hl3 post and brought tho train to a. stop. Roplogle has a slight chance for recovery. |
