Judge Jones today imposed the death penalty on Garret I Johnson, Tid Burton. Bob Ransom, Fred Pineon, Arthur Clear and Sam Applewhite, the night riders, who were found guilly of the murder of Captain Quentiu Rankin, and sentenced Bud Morris and Bob .Huffman, the two other defendants, to twenly years' imprisonment. im-prisonment. Move for New Trial. In applying to Judge Jones today for a new trial, the defense attacked the compel ency of Jurors McKinncy and Dahnke, assorting that they had expressed ex-pressed opinions as to I he guilt of the defendants.
