HER CASE iS CARRIED 10 AJMfi COURT Gertrude Reeves, Charged Willi Killing Infant, Is Found i Dead. Gertrude Reeves, colored, wife of Robert Rob-ert Reeves, a waiter at tho Knutsford hotel, has taken her ease tho alleged murder of hor infant child, now pending In the district court to a higher court. Last night tho woman was found dead in tin; kitchen of her homo at 7 Washington Washing-ton avenue. Heath, from nil appearances, was caused by an attempt to perform a criminal operation upon herself. Mr. Reeves arrived home about- 11 o'clock last night, and after entering tho house called lb his wife, but them was no answer. Ho went into tho kitchen and there found her lying on tho lloor, dressed In hor night clothes, ready for bed. Thinking that she was playing a Joke on him he went to her side and touched her with the Intent of waking her, but to his horror ho discovered that hor body was cold. Mr. Reeves cnllcd neighbors In and they in turn called tho police. Detective Gooding Good-ing went lo the houso anil made a thorough thor-ough investigation, but no other cause than thai stated above could be learned lo which death could bc attributed. Mrs. Reeves was having her freedom under 5750 bull. She was yeurs old and Is survived by a mother and a son, - years old. living in Kansas, and her husband in this city.
