The severe slump in wheat prices occurred late In the session, ses-sion, although with the exception of a brief period during tho first hour, sentiment senti-ment in tho pit was bearish all day. Tho decline carried prices down lSOtc from tho high points of tho day. The July delivery de-livery which sustained the greatest loss, was subjected to heavy selling pressure throughout tho entire dny, tho selling being be-ing based on tho bearish sIiowIdc: of the government report Issued on Monday and on the favorable weather conditions now prevailing in the United States for tho fall-sown crop. A decline at Minneapolis, notwithstanding notwithstand-ing small receipts In tho Northwest, also had a depressing efToct on tho local market, as did tho declines at nearly all the principal European grain centers-There centers-There was some buying- by leading bulla earlv In the day, which caused moderato firmness for a short time, but later the same Interests became sellers.
