The more tho Chicago Tribune thought of this selection the more it3 -beauty editor scorns to havo been convinced I that in selecting tho most beautiful woman in Chicago there has been selectod In fact the most boautiftd woman in the world. Miss Carson was thoreforo proclaimed by tho Chicago newspaper as the most beautiful woman. Tho Tribune does not conccdo that Miss Oarson of Chicago is tho most beautiful woman in Amorica, and it will not concede It until tho peoplo of the Intermountain States have been hoard from. We havo, thorofore' wired a challenge chal-lenge to the Chicago Tribuno in a sincere bolief that thero aro many women in tho Rocky Mountain States, and especially es-pecially in Utah, who would be hold as oven moro beautiful than tho winner of tho Chicago newspaper's contest. In other words, the Salt Lake Tribune Intends to make it possible for the friends of tho boautics of this region to contest tho claims of Chicago, and in ordor to do so will announce in tho next day or two a plan by wliich this challenga may bo made effective Thero is no doubt of the boauty of the winner of tho Chicago Tribune's contest- There is no doubt that she is ontitlcd, in a contest with Chicago womon, to win. But thero is as much difference in tho types of beauty of the wind-swept shores of Michigan and tho valleys of the Eockios as there is between the beauty of American women and of the Orientals. It has been conceded for many years that tho Mountain States produce tho most beautiful women in America, For many years a western woman was hold to bo the niost beautiful in tho world. There aro more beautiful girls on tho streets of Salt Lake on any Sunday afternoon than could bo seen in Chicago in a llfetimo. What Tho Tribuno wants to do is to locate the most beautiful women of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming or Nevada. Especially Es-pecially is it interested in discovering the most beautiful women of this State. Next Sunday a very fine likeness of the winner of the Chicago contest will be reproduced in The Tribune.
